Kimone Smith has been a social-entrepreneur since 2010. She began her career as the 2010 Vice President of Student Government at Rutgers University., where she advocated and convinced the University to begin patrolling North of the Ben Franklin Bridge in Camden, NJ. That same year, she started a marketing company and began marketing apartments to University students and working professionals. She managed 28 properties throughout Downtown Camden and convinced a developer to build on a dilapidated block and rent to University students.
Kim was the first University student appointed to the Camden City Mayor's Youth Council, where she advocated for Camden's youth to then Governor Corzine. Smith was the youngest person endorsed by NJGOP & Camden County GOP to run for Camden County Freeholder in 2013 and almost won against a long-time contender. Her career spans from youth advocate, politician, civic technologist and social scientist. In 2018 she competed in World Business Chicago Inclusive Entrepreneurship Challenge. with Colony 5 and City Tech Collaborative. In 2019, she was a winner in the Englewood Business Competition sponsored by Whole Foods Foundation and the Jobs & Economic Development Task Force, which enabled her to launch the SSS mobile app.
Smith degrees include an Associates in Communications & Mass Media Studies, Bachelors in Political Science, Masters in Public Administration & Public Affairs, and one day Doctor of Social Policy. The Future Doctor Smith, has participated in several government internships, and service projects. Recently, she was a National Candidate for the 2019-2020 White House Fellowship. Currently, Smith lives in Loxahatchee, Florida with with her family and is working to expand the SSS mobile app nationally.
